PRSA West Virginia Virtual Diversity and Inclusion Summit

 Public Relations Society of America – West Virginia Chapter presents the Virtual Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Communications Summit on Tuesday, May 19thand Thursday, 21st. Both conferences are from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. 

As your communications strategies, both internal and external, are transitioning into the virtual world it is important to remember diversity, inclusion, and equity are still priority. This two-day virtual conference will feature national communications experts and a two-part implicit bias training presented by the YWCA Charleston.

The YWCA Charleston will conduct their Implicit Bias Training. This traininghelps people identify implicit bias, learn about the history/context of racism and how it shapes our culture today. They offer insight into microaggressions, white privilege, stereotypes and include steps on how to be an ally. This is an interactive session will engage the audience and challenge what people think they know and understand about racism and their biases.

The New Normal: Diversity/Equity/Inclusion in a Virtual World – presented Dr. Aerial Ellis, Advisory 83.  

Dr. Aerial Ellis will guide us with communications strategies for diversity, equity, and inclusion in this new normal; the virtual world of communications. How are you incorporating these strategies in your internal and external messages as communications are changing? Are you prioritizing diversity, equity and inclusion? Dr. Ellis will guide us in best practices for these changing times.

 

 

Dr. Aerial Ellis is a gifted strategist and storyteller sought after for her ability to transform culture, improve diversity, enhance communication, navigate change, build community and drive innovation. As a trainer and speaker, Aerial is in demand with audiences facing intergenerational and multicultural challenges, navigating differences and maximizing productivity with five generations at work and leveraging racial/ethnic identity as cultural capital. Organizations such as AIG, Asurion, Jackson National Life Insurance, General Board of Higher Education Ministry, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers among others have enlisted her expertise.
